The world is full of people working hard to solve hard-to-solve problems. One such example is Raise For Good, a minority- and women-led consulting firm that specializes in helping purpose-driven companies accelerate their growth, whether in the form of operations strategy, marketing assistance, or support for fundraising and revenue generation. They’re as inspiring as they are essential.
That’s why we’re so excited to announce that we’ll be partnering with Raise For Good to raise awareness for our Changemakers initiative — a week-long hackathon from December 7–11 that connects nonprofits with volunteer experts from the tech community who can help them innovate ways to overcome key operational challenges.
“The purpose-driven organizations we support face a variety of new challenges during the COVID-19 crisis,” said Mary McKenna, Head of Operations and Finance at Raise for Good. “In the midst of an economic and public health crisis, the work of nonprofits to serve communities has become even more important than ever. Yet with conferences, capacity-building and fundraising events canceled, nonprofits are also needing to find new ways to raise awareness and funding to not only effectively manage through the crisis, but to be well-positioned for long-term sustainability. The support of makers to share their skills with these groups is now more valuable than ever.”
“The purpose-driven organizations we support face a variety of new challenges during the COVID-19 crisis.”
With Raise For Good’s help, Changemakers will be able to provide precisely that kind of support to an even larger number of nonprofits this winter.
And while we’re partnering together to solve operational challenges via Changemakers, Raise for Good has its own initiatives to aid nonprofits holistically. Raise For Good is hosting a Bootcamp for early-stage and growth-stage nonprofits working on solutions to increase education, workforce, and economic opportunities. Applications close Oct. 5th, and the program will run from October 13-November 20.
We advise any nonprofits reading this to consider their bootcamp as we know it’ll provide great benefits. Please feel free to reach out to Julia at Raise for Good (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
We hope to work with more organizations like Raise For Good both through Changemakers and otherwise in the months ahead. We also want to partner with makers who can provide technical and operational support! Professionals from the operations and IT communities — as nonprofits interested in partnering with them — can register for the event here.
At the end of the day, what’s important here is that we continue to ideate ways to support each other. 2020 has been a hell of a year. We believe we’re more likely to emerge from it stronger, and more ready to tackle the challenges waiting on the other side of it, if we work together across sectors.
Let’s get to it.
